Tom Brady and the Patriots Charge
Written by MKSep/29/2011
Tom Brady has been the nightmare of every opponent the New England Patriots has faced until now. During these first two weeks of the 2011 football season, the Pats have charged forward with unstoppable strength thanks to the great performance of their quarterback.
When you see his numbers, you know that Brady has been busy and has become a main character in the Pats rooster since he was drafted on the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. His stats have been improving since then with highs and lows, the Tom Brady of this year season seems to be in one of his best moments of his career.
On week 1 he made a record for the team of 517 yards thrown and 4 touchdowns, leading the New England Patriots with a 38-24 win over Miami Dolphins. Brady seems like if he's always great and could be considered the best QB in the league right now. In NFL history no quarterback has thrown for more yardages in two games of an NFL season and Brady almost reach the requisite yardage to reach Dan Marino's 5,084 yard record. Brady throws always looks like if they were auto-targeted to Pats receivers. Mostly because his shots are almost accurate; Brady's effective touchdown-to-interception ratio record of 6.25 on 2007, a record that he already broke.
On Week 2 three of his passes became Touchdowns and went 31 for 40 with no interceptions while the Patriots scored on each of their four first-half possessions. The Pats won 35-21 over the San Diego Chargers and he completed 423 yards. With less than a week incredible performance, Brady became the seventh quarterback in the NFL to reach 400 yards in consecutive weeks, Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers who did it earlier on the same day was the sixth QB on accomplish the extraordinary feat... Brady also is the second QB to do it inside the Patriots history, being Matt Cassel the first to do it.
What can we expect now of the Patriots magical QB? Could he be the one who leads the Pats to another super bowl, and maybe a new championship? The numbers says: Yes he could, last season they finished 14-2 led by Brady; he is bloody skilled, he is accurate, and can throw long and short distances. This is not a prediction, but it won't be a surprise if his talent to lead and throw takes the Patriots into a glorious charge to a new championship, so anyone denying that Tom Brady is the best Quarterback at the NFL at the moment, it's pissing out of the bowl... I can say "bowl", right?
